About Stan
My name is Stan Chaffin and I have the honor to work as a member of CRH’s board. Born and raised in the Hood River Valley I am a native Oregonian. I recently returned to my native state after a career in the military. I am a retired US Army officer where I worked as a Combat Nurse in a (C.S.H.) Combat Support Hospital. For many of you scratching your heads about now know that this duty best described is like the old television series M.A.S.H., without Klinger. During my time in the Army, I had the opportunity to travel to many states in the US, and many countries throughout the world from Europe to the Middle East.
I am an active Registered Nurse, and currently work as the Lead Occupational Health Nurse for Lamb Weston in Boardman. I have worked as a Registered Nurse for over twenty-five years. During my civilian employment as an RN, I have worked not only in Occupational Health but in a Hospital Emergency Room and as an Open-Heart Surgical Ward nurse where I circulated and scrubbed on a team that performed (CABG) Coronary Artery Bypass Graft surgery.
Those of us who live and work in Boardman are living at an exciting, unprecedented time, a time of extraordinary growth. From the Port of Morrow to the City of Boardman and the County of Morrow we are witness to community expansion at a rate seldom seen on this side of the Cascades. Please join me and the other members of the board as we look forward to providing leadership at Columbia River Health to keep pace with this growth well into the future. I welcome your ideas, suggestions, comments, and concerns. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me.
